Douter /Doubt

英文的“doubt”借自法語，而法語的“douter”又來源于拉丁文的“dubitare”。這個(gè)字是以“dubius”派長出的 [“duo”(two)

“habeō”(have, hold)]，本意是“在2個(gè)事情中間做出挑選”(to have to choose between two things)。

法語的“douter”和音樂的“doubt”譯為中文都能夠是“懷疑”，常常能夠有聲翻譯。

Exemple:

1.Je commence à douter de ma décision.

I am starting to doubt my decision.

我剛開始懷疑我的決策了。

2.Je doute de pouvoir vous aider.

I doubt if I can help you.

我或許幫不上大家。

3.He doubted that her story was true.

Il doutait que son histoire f?t vraie.

他懷疑她得話很有可能不確鑿。

“Douter” (doubt) 是“懷疑”一件事情的“真實(shí)有效”，傾向于“否定”，即“不相信”它是確實(shí)。但法語的“se douter”

則恰好反過來：它意指“懷疑” 一件(壞)事是 “確實(shí)”， 傾向于“肯定，堅(jiān)信”，常譯為英文的“suspect”。較為下邊的語句：

1.Je doute qu'elle me trompe.

I doubt she is cheating on me.

我不相信她紅杏出墻。(傾向于否定)

2.Je me doute qu'elle me trompe.

I suspect she is cheating on me.

我懷疑她一件事出軌行為。(傾向于肯定)

3.Je commence à me douter de quelque chose.

I'm starting to suspect something.

我起了疑心。

4.Ils se doutent de ce qui va se passer，et leurs doutes ne sont pas sans

fondement.

They suspected what's going to happen, and there is a basis for this

suspicion.

她們覺得就需要出大事了，而她們的覺得是有依據(jù)的。

“Je m'en doute!” 意為“果真略見一斑”，可譯為英文的“that's what I thought! /I"m not

surprized! /S/he would,wouldn't s/he!”等。

Exemple:

1.Il est très content d'avoir réussi son examen. ——Ah ?a, je m'en

doute!

He's very happy to have passed his exam. ——For sure, I can figure that!

“他考試根據(jù)了，高興極了?！?——“肯定的，不難想象?！?br>
2.Elle voit beaucoup de monde quand tu es absent... ——Je m'en doutais.

She messed with a lot of men when you were away…——I guessed as much.

“你不再時(shí)，她和許多男生鬼混……”——“果出不來我所想”。

這類“堅(jiān)信”與“不相信”有時(shí)候能夠根據(jù)“否定從句”相互之間變換:

Je doute que nous puissions aller très loin cette année.

I suspect that we will not get very far this year.

我懷疑大家2020年能獲得是多少進(jìn)度。

此外，法語的“sans doute”并并不是“毫無疑問”，只是“有點(diǎn)兒疑惑”。因而，不可以譯成“no doubt”。

Exemple:

Il n'a sans doute pas entendu le téléphone sonner.

He probably hasn't heard the phone ring/Perhaps /It's likely he hasn't

heard the phone ring.

他很可能沒聽見手機(jī)來電鈴聲。

相反，“no doubt”或是“without a doubt”也不必譯成“sans doute”，想要譯為“sans aucun /nul

doute”：

Without a doubt, this is the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted.

C'est sans aucun doute le meilleur gateau que j'aie jamais mangé.

毫無疑問, 這是我吃過的*贊的芒果蛋糕。

留意：在簡潔明了的回應(yīng)中，法語的“sans doute”還可以是“毫無疑問”：

Je pense que c'est le fait qu'il ne portait pas la ceinture qui l'a tué.

——Sans doute!

I think he was killed because he was not wearing a seat belt. ——Surely! /
